Yes you can. I didn't want to trade in my old phone, am not in a contract with my carrier, and didn't want to be in one or pay it out monthly. I don't think any reputable stores sell an unlocked version online. Have to buy in store. I bought my new iPhone XS - 64gb UNLOCKED -- and without activation on 12/31/18 from Best Buy in Allen Tx. Paid same price as full price unlocked that Apple Store charges --- and which is actually equal to the same price as you pay to most carriers through their monthly plans.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes You can. I did that a couple of weeks ago, there’s no issue with network and my carrier.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can get an unlocked version in the store by paying the full price. I got the same.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can. It’s actually what I’ve done the last few times. I buy an unlocked phone. Pay the full price with my Best Buy card. Then I still get the 12 months to pay it off. (Or sooner, depending on you) They help set it up right there in the store too. I prefer this way so I’m not stuck with another two year contract.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have done this several times in the past and it was so nice. We picked out a phone, paid for it, they transferred our pictures, etc. And we avoided the awful AT&T sales pitch to get a new phone plan (AT&T employees make commission). But, our last phone purchase wasn't the same. Best Buy Edwardsville IL. They had a 3rd party AT&T persone there, who took 30 min to access our accout. She then told us only 1 phone was compatible to move our pictures. This was the most expensive phone. Finally a Best Buy mgr helped us and wow....we were able to buy a cheaper phone and everything transfwrred to the new phone just fine. Also, a friend was told at Best Buy in Springfield IL that he couldn't pay for the phone ip front, he had to make payments...he ended up going somewhere else. Best Buy....why are you complicating a previous easy and seemless phone purchase from your stores?
