To be honest, it depends on how much time you spend in your car. I purchased this because my older iPods have given up, too. I use it in my truck, but also in my craft room and on sewing weekends. I also enjoy playing games, so this will give my phone a break. Mine also came with 6 months free of Apple Music, so that's a bonus.
