“Does this protect the device? How long does the battery last on the keyboard?”

• It will protect the IPad somewhat however if your looking for total protection this is not your go to. When close the keyboard protects your screen and the back of the iPad, however the sides of your iPad are still exposed. The Magic Keyboard doesn’t not have a battery and when connected it “runs” of your iPads battery. It does not noticeably decrease your ipads battery life either.

• The keyboard offers moderate protection. The edges are exposed so they can be scratched if you abuse it. There is no battery in the keyboard. It does have a USB-C port that allows pass-thru charging for the iPad.
