“How solid is the charger when attached? If I am hiking should I get a case that fits both the phone and charger?”

• Yes, the charger can slip off the back of the phone case if bounced up and down

• If it in you bag or pocket , it stays in place real tight fit with the MagSafe , not easy to fall of unless you push it off

• The MagSafe battery charger holds the best when attached directly to the phone. There are MagSafe capable phone cases available but i would not trust in an active environment.
