By this time my answer is no use, but should help someone else who's having the same problem as I did too go through this and was confused. When you redeem your code for the 4 months free it will ask you to enter a payment method. Add you payment method and once again redeem your code. I had to go back and enter the code as it did not do it automatically after I entered my payment method. From what I read you must make sure to cancel before the 4 months are up or it will charge automatically. Even if you cancel before your 4 months are up you will still have access to the music and it will stop working once your free "subscription" is up.
