• Drive does not have SD port. You would have to get the file son your computer first.

• The drive will work fine. The hub I tried didn't work with the drive. The drive needed a different adapter, even though there was a USB port on the hub. You need a hub or something to read your SD card. A possible workaround would be download the files to your computer using a hub SD port, and then writing to the CD using the superdrive with a USB-C to USB-A adapter. Or maybe in the last month they've come out with a better hub? Anyway, it can be done.
