Since yout didn't say what type of file you are trying to open on your Mac, the best answer is that it depends upon what type of CD program you are trying to use on your Mac. If the CD was formatted/written for a PC, it will not work on your Mac UNLESS you download Windows to your Mac via either Apple Boot Camp, or some other type of software such as Parallels for Mac. Some software is written for PC or Mac and will work on either type of OS. Generally, files from MS Office will work on a Mac that has MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher) installed on it. Since the newer versions of Office are online (Office 365) rather than resident on your laptop, any Office files written on a PC should work on a Mac. Good luck!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The software that your PC used to write the discs may be proprietary and won't work on a Mac.
