Can i store files on this or is it just a dvd player null

It can read and write both CDs and DVDs. Just like the old internal drives. I had to get a Belkin USB-C to USB-A adapter to connect the drive to the computer port. I was sold an Insignia 7 port hub to make the connection but the USB on the hub didn't speak to the drive. I've tried this out and it works fine.
