• This is the best way to go. The  Super Drive is well-made and attractive. However, LG makes one that works just as well (although not as pretty) for about 1/3 the price of the  one.

• Yes, you can purchase the  Super Drive or any similar external optical drive. LG makes a good one for about 1/3 the price of the  one.
