“I bought this drive recently and I've found a Region 1 DVD isn't recognized by my Mac (2019) as Region 1. I'm not sure why; the DVD has played in every other device I own since about 2004. The DVD is printed in the USA. Anyone else have this problem?”

I've noticed that with mine and my 2018 Mac that I had to completely shut down my mac, plug in the super drive and then start my mac back up. I also noticed that I have to keep the super drive plugged into my usb port or I have to go through the process again each time. I hope this helps you as I have not tried a Region 1 DVD only CD's.
