Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Vicki: There is no software needed as long as you are using this drive with an Apple product. The CD/DVD should "slide in" without a problem. The unit does not "suck" the CD/DVD in like many drives, but rather just "slides" in. I'd give it another try and see if it works - if not, you might take your MacBook and the Super Drive into a Best Buy and let a Geek Squad member check to make sure the drive is working properly. Although it is not likely, there could be a defect with the drive itself.
