Just purchased this product today. When I tried to put a cd into the product, it wouldn’t go all the way in. Is there software I need to add for functionality? Thanks null

There is no software needed as long as you are using this drive with an Apple product. The CD/DVD should "slide in" without a problem. The unit does not "suck" the CD/DVD in like many drives, but rather just "slides" in. I'd give it another try and see if it works - if not, you might take your MacBook and the Super Drive into a Best Buy and let a Geek Squad member check to make sure the drive is working properly. Although it is not likely, there could be a defect with the drive itself.

No, the disc should just slide in easily. You may have a defective unit.

Shouldn't have to do anything but put it in. I push the cd slowly but then the device takes it in. You eject it from your computer screen info.
