Yes, the drive will burn files to the disc as well as read discs just like a basic disc drive.

But to connect the Super Drive to your MacBook Pro, you need to connect female USB to USB C in laptop. The drive comes with a connected male regular USB 2.0 Transferring videos to your MacBook Pro would depend on your laptop software and the space available on hard drive. Still need same connection as above.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My understanding is that this will work with any apple computer that does not have a built in CD/DVD drive. My computer recognized it immediately and I had no problem copying items to the CD.
