• Yes, the drive will burn files to the disc as well as read discs just like a basic disc drive.

• The drive is read/write, so you should be able to burn your photos to a CD/DVD. But to connect the Super Drive to your MacBook Pro, you need to connect female USB to USB C in laptop. The drive comes with a connected male regular USB 2.0 Transferring videos to your MacBook Pro would depend on your laptop software and the space available on hard drive. Still need same connection as above.

• My understanding is that this will work with any apple computer that does not have a built in CD/DVD drive. My computer recognized it immediately and I had no problem copying items to the CD.
