• If you are using it on a MacBook, a dvd inserted in the drive should load up and play. I believe the DVD player software is present. If not, there are some in the App Store that can be downloaded free to use.

• No, you need a computer monitor or TV to watch the DVD you put into the drive.

• Of course. Just like any other dvd player. Just plug into a usb port and choose the drive to play or view any thing on the disk.
