Sounds like it should work. I have used this cable to connect my MacBook Pro (2019) to my USB Phono Plus Audio Interface. The audio interface connects directly to my turntable. I am able to listen to my vinyl collection through my MacBook and also able to record using Garage Band on my MacBook.
