• No. I bought this Apple-brand connector today- the USB-C side fits the MacBook port fine, but the regular USB port on the dongle isn't standard size. I tried connecting a Nook, a Samsung, and then several Apple-brand standard USB plugs. None of them fits.

• Yes, that one will work. I would stray away from using any third party parts for apple products. I use mine almost daily and it works just fine.
