Best Buy for as long as I can remember has played the game many Big-Boxer Retailers play where they get a "special model number" from manufacturers so that they don't have to price-match others. This way, you can't say you found it elsewhere for a cheaper price and they need to beat it by 10% or whatever. Sam's Club does it, as does Wal-Mart, etc. Sometimes the unit is exactly the same, other times it's missing some tweak to save a few pennies. Normally it's impossible to get a straight answer out of anyone because the only people that know are the manufacturer (who won't tell you because it hurts their relationship with the retailer) and possibly some Buyer for the Retailer in question who you are not going to get an answer from either if you could actually find out who they are.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pretty sure the is no difference except for the Y at the end. If you Google vg259qm you get an asus website with the specs. Same thing if you Google vg259qmy, only difference between the websites is the Y at the name
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They're essentially the same, but the VG259QMY is sold at BestBuy.
