• The optical disc drive will not work on car stereo.

• The way I overcame the same issue was to tranfers all my cds to a thumb drive. I plug it into a USB in my truck and access that drive through the stereo.. its a process but works great.. I have well over 100 cds on one drive. Anyway.. you need a drive like this one, a computer with windows media player (its the most accepted by most cars), a thumb drive, and time to rip your cds.. creating individual folders on it as you go for each artist..
