The cable is USB C but it has a regular USB adaptor. The power comes from the USB connection, so I don't think it would work for you without some finagling. I have used an HDMI adaptor with a Samsung phone, so I'd recommend that and a cheaper HDMI monitor, or a TV if you have one.
