“Does caller ID show anywhere when there's a call waiting....in other words, if I'm on the phone and someone calls, will their number/name show up or just beep indicating that there's a call coming?”

I tried it out. The phone number of the incoming call showed up on the handset while the line was already busy. So the short answer is that you CAN see the number.
