“Does this phone/answer machine work with receiving faxes? I have a similar, older and nicer AT&T cordleess phone with built-in answer machine, 6.00 dect. But I've discovered it won't receive faxes. I can fax out more consistently. With Hewlitt Packard, we thought something wrong with fax machine so I bought a new fax/printer. hmmm.... And then same problem continues. Hewlitt-Packard thinks it has to do with my digital phone service (vs. analog). Then the phone company came and we determined it could be the telephone itself since the fax worked when phone not connected (fax line went directly to wall). So I tried someone's digital cordless phone with answer machine (Panasonic) that is 5.8 dect (don't even know what dect means) on my same digital phone line and that worked. So now I need to make sure a new phone will work to receive a fax. If you don't know if this one will, or you definitely know it won't work, can you recommend another one? I need the full base, prefer cordless vs. corded. And prefer the keys/numbers on the base (& not just on telephone handset itself). Sorry about long question. Thank you so much.”
