• It just holds the CD itself but I used the empty box to store my CD Cases in there. Very pleased with it.

• Definitely holds just the disc - no case. Each "book" has 12 pages. Each page holds 2 discs in a front & back of page arrangement, with a clear cover each side and cloth like separator between the discs. You can see titles and the data side of the disc goes against the cloth so it won't get scratched. Each book holds 24 discs for a total of 96. I add a paper sleeve in the center of each to get to 100 per unit. These really work well if you have a large collection of discs without cases.
