Yes it can. The separate ground wire (required for a PHONO level out connection) works perfectly fine. Any AT-VMN Series replacement stylus may be used in place of the provided (AT-VMN95E) stylus to upgrade the cartridge to a higher level model cartridge. Our VM Series cartridges complete with styli are also compatible with the turntable.
