If you receive does not have a preamp, then you need to change the switch on the back of the turntable to internal preAmp. Connect the RCA jacks to an AUX-in on the receiver. No receiver, no problem. Just connect the turntable to a pair of speakers that have RCA plug connectivity. In this case, the turntable is providing the power to the speakers.
