If the stereo has a dedicated PHONO input that accepts magnetic type phono cartridges, the turntable can be used with this input. If the PHONO input does NOT support a magnetic type phono cartridge, the turntable can be used with a line level input such as AUX IN instead. In this case, you will need to turn on the phono preamplifier located inside the turntable. This is done by setting the preamp selector switch located on the rear of the turntable to the LINE position.

If your amp has a “phono” input the answer is “yes”.

If your amp has “aux” or any input not marked “phono” you need a pre-amp, or signal booster; even if you have old equipment that was top-of-the-line.

I went to the web site of my amp mfg. (Yamaha) and entered my amp model etc. and Yamaha answered. Because my amp was in perfect condition I purchased a new turntable.

Glad I did as turntables are much improved.

My guess is yes. This turntable has both Line Level (using internal preamp), and Phono Level output (without the internal preamp). It has a switch that selects the type of output using the same RCA jacks and included cable.

If you Google it ,then it'll tell you how to go about hooking it up to any kind amp, equalizer & speakers. My husband stuff is older too.

As long as you have an open input either line level or phono.
