Once the lid is raised I measured from the bottom of the feet to the top of the lid where it stops and the measurement was 16 and a half inches.

From the surface the turntable would be sitting on, the max open dustcover height is 16 inches. The cover is supporting itself beginning at 14 inches. Note that these measurements were taken with the adjustable feet screwed all the way in (which puts the turntable in it's lowest position).
