1. Yes. The needle/cartridge are attached to the head shell (which is detached from the arm), and the needle is protected by a piece of plastic that keeps it aligned during shipment. 2. No. 3. There's no number on the head shell, but it's nothing special. It looks like this. https://amzn.to/39vihOa
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My unit came aligned correctly but that doesn't mean they will all be correct. On their website you can find a printable protractor and that'll tell if it's aligned or not.

Following is a link to our Cartridge Alignment Blog that contains a link to an alignment protractor that can be downloaded for printing. There isn't one in the manual.
