• It's strictly for looks. Not fire or explosion proof, just a decoy in case you're robbed. Looks like any other hard cover book.

• Definitely not! I got it for my daughter for when she goes to college. It is not the highest quality, but is convenient and discreet. It was a bit bigger than we expected.
