I plugged in the audio cable that has that has 3.5 mm connectors on both ends. I plugged the end with the controls into the headphones and used a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch adapter and plugged into the 1/4 inch phono jack on my Audio Source One pre amp set to normal volume. The Beats headphones have to be powered up.
