yes you can wear only one and have the other one resting in the case. The bud sitting in the case will hold onto the power it has but the case doesn't charge the earbuds

Yes, I typically wear one when I’m out walking alone (gotta hear my surroundings) and it works perfectly fine. Even if you’re wearing both but take one out, it continues to play whatever you’re listening unlike AirPods.
