Research based answer only as I have not tried sleeping in these: These are great headphones for travel, general listening, and commuting — but for side sleeping, they’re not ideal because over-ear cups stick out and can feel uncomfortable when you press your head into a pillow.

They are comfortable and do fully cover the ear, but I wouldn’t say they’re ideal for sleeping on your side long-term. The ear cups aren’t completely flat on the pillow-facing side, so there is some pressure when you’re laying on them. They worked for me for a while, but after a lot of sleeping with them on, I started noticing wear and sound issues on one side. I think that was from consistent pressure while sleeping. If you’re an occasional side sleeper, they’re fine. But if you sleep with headphones on every night, I’d recommend something specifically designed for sleep or low-profile headphones to avoid discomfort or damage over time.
