“whats the difference between on ear and over the ear”

On ear sit on the ear , over ear go over the entire ear blocking outside noise

On ear means the headphone actually lays on your ear. Over ear means the headphone goes around your ear and does not lay on the ear at all. I find over ear to be much more comfortable.

On ear headphones are smaller in size and it sits on your ears. Where as over the ear head phone will be big enough to cover your ears and it will be comfortable to be worn for longer hours.

On ear usually doesn't have noise cancelling. Over the ear completely covers your ear and provides more sound buffering.

On ear is slightly smaller in size but more comfortable to wear.
