If your purchasing 2 then I would get one each (lightning & 3.5). The lightning for the iPhone & the other for an android. If you get both 3.5 then the iPhone user would need to carry the 3.5 adapter for it. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.For the iPhone either can work, go with the lower priced option or if they have a color preference; for Android you’d want the 3.5mm option only as the lightning connector would not work unless you purchase a adapter for additional cost !!

For Android you want the 3.5mm plug and if it's a newer iPhone in the last couple years lightning will work otherwise 3.5mm plug should work with both as the phones come with an adapter to use 3.5mm plugs even if the phone doesn't have one.
