I would get 1.(airpods) with 2.(catalyst airpods carrying case) and 3.(insignia’s apple airpods accessories) to fit his ear no matter what along with other goodies for your ear to keep them in place even make them have the beats style too :)

When not using the ear bugs have magnet so they automatically hook back up for you. Cuts out background noise, the clarity is great. Hope this helps.
