• Yes to both your questions. The pad is small so you really need to keep moving your phone around until you hit the charging area on the phone. I used it a couple of time on my X max and it would stop charging if it wasn’t aligned perfectly.

• Yes to both. you can even charge your iPhone with the case still on.
