No is the easy answer. I made that mistake after purchasing and take home I found the XR doesn't have a metal backing to attract the magnet. I added a metal stick on and then plugged the unit in using my charger cord and the Phone charged but was hot when I went to take it off. I'm still using it that way but don't recommend. The other problem I called, Texted and E-Mailed the company about it with ZERO responses. Good Luck!
