Jim, I am wondering is you went ahead and tried the adapter for streaming and if it did work. I'm wanting to do the same thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t think so, but maybe the right kind of app may allow that? The reason I answer it this way is that the adapter is supposed to be a replacement for the headphone jack that Apple eliminated. So its designed to run audio out. However, I have used the adapter that came with the phone (but doesn’t have a power port) with a selfie stick and that allows you to use the shutter button on the stick through the adapter. So it would appear that the phone could use it for audio in, but it might take an app to initialize that functionality.
