Yes but not very well. You can get used to the swipe to unlock but if you have password enabled that becomes difficult to accurately actuate the correct digits - so recommend turning off password before using.

It's uncomfortable to do that to switch applications on the phone. It's easier to slip it off

Yes. Fully functional, although covered you can still control with finger. Assuming you'll have earbuds on of course for the calls.
