Why is the USB-A end female type ? null

So you can use a Regular USB in it to convert to USB C connecting anything using a USB A Male connection.

The adapter would be useless other than an extension cable if it had a male end! It is an adapter device, you use it to connect it to a USB thumb drive, a wireless mouse dongle, a printer, etc., etc., etc.
