“I asked if it could be used to melt Hershey's chocolate to dip things in. I would like to get two of them. One for bananas and one for strawberries. Why can't it be used to melt chocolate? Does it get too hot? Is there a Low setting? How hot is low?”

Yes, for sure and type of dip. low, high and warm settings.
