• blanch is putting food (vegs) into boiling water for 2 to 5 minutes to precook then removing and draining before putting food in airfryer for finish cooking

• blanch is to boil a vegetable, like beans, potatoes for one minute in boiling water. This is what you do when you freeze vegetables, also.

• I think they chose this term because the food doesn’t “fry” at the lower temps indicated for “blanch”. This step serves the function of the traditional pre-cooking blanching portion of a recipe. The 15 minutes is the total time. At the halfway mark (approx 8 min.) the basket should be taken out and given a good shake to ensure even cooking.
