Why won't it stay shut? null

Not sure what the issue is or why your having it. The basket snaps into home place easily and securely.

When you close the draw does it spring open? If it does, which side seems to stick out? That tells you the door is crooked. Pull it out and see if the sides look straight. If not, lay tray on its side and push down and bend it back. It should click and shut when you reinsert the drawer. If the start light is blinking. Pull the drawer out. Above there's a latch which the top of the drawer slides into, it looks like a clothes peg. In the center is a piece of plastic that is a micro switch and it goes into the top when drawer is pushed into position and starts your frier and illuminates the panel. Turn the unit facing upwards and using a flathead screwdriver push it upwards. It will start your frier. You wont get electrocuted as its a plastic switch.

I haven’t had this problem, check to see if there is something that fell out of the basket and into the fryer, it could be blocking the basket from sliding all the way in!
