• No. You would have to use tongs, a spoon, fork or similar to remove your food to avoid pouring out the grease if you use the basket, as the large handle would suggest, as a big cup and pour its contents out onto your plate. The round insert that elevates your food above the grease is simply a platform. There is no separate "basket" to lift out as in other models.

• No you cannot. There's a crisper plate that goes in the bottom of the basket and the food goes on top of that. When it cooks the grease falls to the bottom of the basket. If you try to tilt the basket to dump the food unto the plate the grease will come out as well. It's best to use some tongs and pick the food off of the crisper plate and then once all the food has been removed, then dump the basket upside down to empty the grease.
