Likely your basket has a broken off tab that activates the touchscreen when closed. The company does not carry parts and will not replace a discontinued product.

They replaced my air fryer free of charge, I just needed to send them a pic of the cut cord after I talked to them. The new one they sent me has been working for the last 2 years with no issues.
