The instructions make a mention of this as well, but they recommend you let the ice/frozen fruit sit for a bit first. Especially if you don't have much in the way of liquid, the blender will 'trip' itself and stop the blades, if the substance you're blending is too hard. This does not prevent you from shaking up the contents a bit and trying again.

Yes and no Some ice is harder than others and size does matter smaller is the way to go.

yes but I use small cubes, max cubes I used so far is 4 cubes and have no problems
