I am currently projecting onto a 120" (measured diagonally) screen and the image is superb for 4k movies. You would have to sit farther away from the screen if it were 180" (measured diagonally), but I don't think there would be much loss of quality if you sat the recommended distance from the screen. Also, with this projector you would have to hang it between 14'-9" and 19'-2" for a 180" (measured diagonally) screen. If the room will be dark whenever you are watching a movie (no outside light from kitchen or windows), then you wouldn't need a projector with higher lumens. Otherwise, if the room will have a lot of light coming in when you are watching movies, then a projector with higher lumens will help a little bit, but just note that most projectors suffer in quality in a brighter room. My current setup is in a basement with three windows (all have blackout curtains on them), and it looks great to me when I watch during the day with the lights off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not sure about 180" screen, throw distance would be LONG. I'm 110" at 9'9" with the lamp in eco mode and certainly bright enough for my completely dark basement theater.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.4k quality. i run mines on a 180 inch screen and picure quality is great@
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hesitated because of low brightness but I pulled the plug and I'm super happy! With a 140" screen and a throw distance of about 11" it is quite good even with some lights on (no windows in my room). I use zoom at that short distance. A longer distance will certainly reduce the brightness but I think it will be good enough especially if the lights are off. I uploaded two images taken from my phone, both while two sconces were on, each with a 60Watt equivalent warm color LED bulb. They don't do justice to the picture quality but I wanted to show how bright it is even with the lights on. The rainbow colors only show up in the camera image, not to my naked eye.
