No. This fridge does not do that. If you leave the door open it will never chime.

If your kids are notorious for leaving the door open then this is not the fridge for them. Get them something more basic and with a solid door. Buy this one for yourself. I have not had it left open much out of my own autonomy, so I can't state if it does make a noise or not. Worth the extra money for a nicer model with stainless, glass door and led. Hope that helps!
