How powerful is the motor,? null

Hi Cat - this vacuum has a 10 amp motor.

its really powerful, especially for carpet.

Aside from whatever the number amps it says, it is well rated as not being top number but close to it. All I can say in past month of purchase and use, it vacuums really well and picks up smallest dirt. We currently live in an apartment so carpets can really be a pain to clean but this vacuum I kid you not works better than our last. WE had a Eureka and in beginning it worked well but gave out on us just like that after about 3 yrs, so decided try this one because good ratings, odd complaints were doable (short hose and pocket to put it in have be bit careful, but rest all great), price was good because on sale (didn't want risk paying a lot in case don't last long, plus knew someone with dyson and I think that was hard lug around and didn't even vacuum very well) and this color orange was nice too! So as to the power, well I think it works real well and not that noisy either. We have it on medium setting and it literally picks up crumbs, you can clearly hear it!

It seems plenty powerful to me.
