“I understand that a MacBook Air is compatible by using an adapter to convert the USB-A on the microphone to the Lightning port on the MacBook Air. However, the Apple Store only sells USB-C adaptors. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?”

Hello CN! It depends on the generation of MacBook Air that you have... For Gen 3, using a USB-C to USB-A adapter would work, Gen 2 had 2 USB-A ports so you should be good there, and Gen 1 had 1 USB-A port, so should be good again on that end.
