Yes you could, but to capture your voice properly, it will need to be on omnidirectional setting; however it will pick up everything in the room, best audio quality has the microphone with a pop filter, directly infront of your mouth.

Definitely! The included cable is about 6-feet long, so you have some room to work with. Just make sure that the front of the mic is facing you and you have the back knob set to "cardioid", this is the PacMan-looking icon. If you want to get some ambiance for your acting, set it to omnidirectional, this is the circle icon.
