Blueair filters are not HEPA. Our air purifiers use a unique combination of electrostatic and mechanical filtration that we like to call HEPASilent™ technology. We use the term to describe our filtration technology as a whole, where others use the HEPA term to specify the filter type. The combination of electrostatic and mechanical filtration results in performance equal in efficiency to the True HEPA standard, capturing at least 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns in size. Our filters are less dense than traditional HEPA filters, requiring less air pressure — making quieter and more energy efficient air purifiers.
